This is a specialist training course leading to a Level 5 CMI Certificate in Management and Leadership. Upon completion of this week-long course and subsequent written tasks, the successful candidate will be awarded a Level 5 CMI certificate in Management & Leadership showing the CMI units achieved. In addition, the successful candidate will receive a transcript from the International Centre for Parliamentary Studies certifying the specialisation in Fundamentals of Governance: Government and Parliament.

It provides the essential skills for understanding best practice in good governance and understanding the roles of Parliaments in different countries. It covers a comprehensive range of subjects such as: the roles and functions of Parliaments, the separation of powers, legislation, relationships between parliaments and governments, scrutiny; administrative reform, principles of good governance, legislative reform, accountability and transparency, the rule of law, socio-political dimensions of governance, the work of the UN and the OECD, instruments and agents of governance, Copenhagen criteria as a possible model for governance reform, as well as structuring written work for assessment.

This is a one week course which takes place in London, although we are also able to organise the course in your own country if this is your preference. It is internationally recognised and gives you highly sought after transferable CATS points.
